ZIGO sign-What are the carving techniques for signage?

Sculpture refers to cutting or carving wood, stone, or other materials into desired shapes. Carving can be divided into two types: concave carving (yin carving) and convex carving (yang carving). Concave carving refers to the carving technique in which a carved pattern or text is trapped on a hard material surface. The patterns and texts of concave carvings are all hollowed out on the surface of hard materials. Therefore, if hard concave carvings such as carved stones are forcefully pressed onto soft and realizable materials, relief with patterns or texts can be produced. Yang carving is a carving technique that uses a knife from the background to highlight text or patterns on the surface of a material. Relief and relief have similar meanings, but relief mostly refers to leaving the pattern in a semi three-dimensional shape on the surface of the material and flattening the outer part of the pattern into a base plate.
