Hotel Lisboa Macau is an iconic building with a unique exterior and complex interior. The hotel incorporates a variety of functional areas such as gaming, lodging, dining and entertainment, and is a place of great visitor and resident traffic. Architecturally, the Lisboa Macau is known for its luxury and high end, with opulent interiors that are at the same time modern, and an overall environment that requires a signage system that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Design Difficulties

The interior of Lisboa Macau has a variety of functional areas such as gaming area, guest room area, dining area, shopping area, and entertainment area, etc. How to effectively guide guests to quickly find their destinations within these areas was the primary design challenge. The hotel welcomes visitors from all over the world every day, and the signage system needed to meet multilingual needs to ensure that all guests could understand and use the signage. As a high-end hotel, the signage not only needed to be functional, but also match the luxurious ambience of the hotel and reflect the high standard of design aesthetics.

Installation and Design Considerations

We used bilingual displays in the signage design, with some important areas in other commonly used languages, to ensure that all guests can easily understand the signage message. We chose high quality materials such as stainless steel, copper and acrylic to ensure the durability and aesthetics of the sign. The design style of the signs harmonizes with the overall décor of the hotel, making them both aesthetically pleasing and functional. In order to ensure that guests can clearly read the signage information in any situation, we used high contrast colors and simple and clear icons, and rationally arranged the installation position of the signage to ensure its visibility. Considering the high traffic and complex environment of the hotel, we chose waterproof, UV and fireproof materials to ensure that the signs can be used for a long time in various environments. At the same time, we strictly followed the safety regulations during the installation process to ensure the stability and safety of the signs.

Project Design

First, we had a detailed communication with the management of Macau Lisboa to understand their specific needs and expectations. Based on these needs, we developed a detailed design program. Based on the needs analysis, we carried out a preliminary design, produced a variety of design sketches, and communicated and confirmed with the management several times to ensure the feasibility and practicability of the design scheme. After the preliminary design was confirmed, we refined the design, including the specific size, color, font and other details of the sign. At the same time, we also considered the practicality of the sign installation to ensure a smooth installation process. After the design was confirmed, we carried out the production and installation of the signs. During the installation process, we strictly followed the design scheme and conducted several tests to ensure the visibility and guidance of the signs.
